Software Test, Team Lead Manchester  £40,000-50,000 plus generous benefits

You will inherit some tools and processes inc MS Test Suite, the rest is your own to build inc hiring a couple of test analysts and establishing work patterns, SLAs, relationships with colleagues in development, architecture, infrastructure and operations.

Role Specifics

• Work with IT management to build and run a Manchester based Test Team
• Excellent communication skills, with a need to be fluid between third parties (testing will include regression testing of third party released software) and internal stakeholders
• Manage integration and regression testing of all products (internal and third party)
• Assist in the drive towards continuous deployment
• Define Testing Strategies and Methodologies to test the complex suite of interlocking databases, webservices and applications in the Arrow estate
• Lead planning and development of testing strategies
• Work closely with Devs, BAs and PMs to ensure quality testing is taking place and provide updates on defects and issues
• Identify and prioritise issues arising from the testing in liaison with Development and Change teams

Experience and skills wishlist (you are unlikely to have all of these !!)

• Experience with the Microsoft Testing Suite (Visual Studio, Test Manager etc.) and test automation software (MS CodedUI)
• Experience with TFS and source controlled environments to support best practice
• Solid experience in writing test scripts, defining scenarios and outcomes, designing test cases etc
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Experience in using Defect Management Tools (Mantis, Jira etc)
• Experience with third party testing tools and test management tools (Selenium WebDriver, TestRail, etc.)

• A good understanding of SQL Server and .NET technologies, though not a hands-on development role so no requirement for complex SQL skills (though there is a requirement to continue with existing automation and develop new automation)
• Able to read and understand complex technical requirements document
• Experience of working in an Agile environment with the ability to work in a sprint based manner, as well as experience in Waterfall environments
• Able to evaluate testing tools and work with stakeholders and senior management to determine strategies/benefits
