Linux Infrastructure Engineer / Junior DevOps Engineer, Staffordshire, £30,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

Do you have a background as a Linux infrastructure engineer (strong 2^nd or 3^rd line), with a desire to move into a DevOps position offering training and exposure to cloud and automation technologies? If so, this role could be for you!

We have an opportunity with a growing client, about to embark on a platform transformation from Windows to Linux and on-premise into the cloud. There will be opportunities to grow and develop your HLD and LLD skills alongside experienced engineers.

You will be responsible for a mix of Project and operational support within a fast-paced enterprise environment, within a company focused on training and development (structures plan already in place) and a outlined career growth plan from day one.

The Ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting Linux infrastructure and a passion for Cloud and automation. Any experience with cloud or automation technologies is a bonus.

Core Skills

• Linux admin experience, either Redhat, Centos, Ubuntu
• Strong understanding of Virtualisation technologies (VMWare or HyperV)
• Understanding of Window Server and associated technologies

Ideally but not required

• Cloud experience with either Azure, AWS or GCP
• Automation tooling experience with any of Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, AzureDeOps, Puppet, Chef.
• Strong Scripting experience with one of Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Experience of containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes).
