The role holder will be expected to develop an excellent understanding of the complex architecture and functionality of the IT landscape to assess change impact, direct development teams and advise on business and technical initiatives. Whilst helpful to have hands-on development experience with modern technologies, the planning and team leading elements of this role are considerably more important. As a senior member of the team, you need to be delivery-focused. Yet, being confident with stakeholders and project managers. Your team will range inexperience as you continue to support new graduates. All while expanding the team with more senior members. Operating across a spotify model, you will be responsible for mulitple teams holding a Team Lead, Architects, Product Owner, UX/UI, Developers, BA's, and Testers.



  • Experience of allocating development tasks to developers based on skills, availability, task priorities etc.
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and to understand how systems have been architected to support these processes in order that system change requests can be assessed.
  • Manage a growing team of developers, providing day-to-day leadership and technical support.
  • Act as point of escalation for application level issues, with some out of hours support required when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate development progress and set clear stakeholder expectations within IT and the wider business.
  • Experience of managing a development team.
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with colleagues and influence strategic delivery.
  • Experience of managing a development pipeline using issue tracking and project management tools.
  • Experience of allocating development tasks to developers based on skills, availability, task priorities etc.
